About the Journal

Explore the Journal

Archaeology in Washington is an occasional publication of the Association for Washington Archaeology.  This publication is produced primarily by professionals with an interest in the subject of historic preservation in Washington State.  All journal content undergoes a process of peer review and editing before publication, and contributing authors and editorial staff of Archaeology in Washington serve primarily on a volunteer basis.  The journal is always looking for new manuscripts as well as qualified peer reviewers, and those interested in contributing to Archaeology in Washington as an author or peer reviewer are encouraged to contact the current Editor.

Online access to Archaeology in Washington is restricted to members of the Association for Washington Archaeology.  Details for joining AWA and gaining access to the journal are available here.  Membership also allows online access to current and back issues of Archaeology in Washington,  as well as archived issues of Occasional Papers of the Washington Archaeology Society and archived issues of The Washington Archaeologist, publications produced by the now-defunct Washington Archaeology Society.

Neither the Association for Washington Archaeology nor its appointed or elected officials can be held responsible for any comment or viewpoint expressed in any issue of Archaeology in Washington or any other publication available to members.  The author(s) of each article are totally responsible for the content and views expressed therein.
