AWA attends the annual Northwest Anthropological Conference (NWACs) each year. AWA participates as a vendor and staffs a table in the vendor area where members can renew and others can join the association. AWA also hosts a Silent Auction at the table. AWA research grants are distributed at the NWACs and grant winners receive tickets to attend the NWAC banquet. The AWA also holds the Annual General Meeting, which is open to all AWA members, during NWACs. In addition, AWA hosts social events like the Pub Crawl and sponsors luncheons and other opportunities. The NWAC Committee helps plan and organize AWA's involvement in the NWACs. The larger NWAC planning team will coordinate with the AWA NWAC Committee each year.
